The same frames, carried by air instead of light. Two lanes of sixteen tones sounded together, one nibble in each — above almost anyone's hearing, and far above an aeroplane, which is enormously loud but almost entirely below 500 Hz. No network, no line of sight, nothing to pair: the other seat only has to be within earshot.

Sound carries to everyone in earshot, not to one seat — so treat it the way you would a room with other people in it. A dead drop sealed with a passphrase stays sealed whichever carrier moves it. To actually talk, go to Messages.

Split a picture
The same passphrase above, made visible. One plane is the keystream it derives; the other is the picture with that keystream subtracted from it. Neither is anything on its own — and laid over each other they are not showing you the picture, they are computing it, because difference and exclusive‑or are the same operation at one bit per channel. Print the two on transparencies and it still works on paper.

Restore from frames
Import the pictures back — exported frames, screenshots, or straight-on photographs of them. Order does not matter and neither does how many are missing, so long as enough remain. Rotated or angled photographs are not read.

Verification renders each frame to a canvas and reads it back out of the pixels — never from the arrays that drew it — then rebuilds the container and compares every byte.
Where this goes next
Every frame carries a fountain symbol, so frames are disposable: any sufficient subset rebuilds the file, whichever ones survive. That is what makes storing bytes as video plausible at all — —
Measured, not assumed: frames encoded with real ffmpeg at a fixed bitrate ceiling, decoded, and read back. 42 of 44 configurations rebuilt byte-identical — at 4K and 20 Mbps only 26 of 240 frames were still readable and the file came back anyway. Reed–Solomon repairs damage inside a frame; the fountain covers the frames lost entirely.
What is untested is the service, not the coding: these are the codecs and rates YouTube documents, not its own pipeline. Uploading bulk data to a video host is also squarely against its terms.

A higher QR version packs more bytes into every frame but needs a sharper camera. If frames stop decoding, drop the version or raise error correction.
